Confession

I haven't read the Twi*light boo-ks yet. I bought them all through yard sales (or my mom gave me a copy of the 3rd one). Have any of you read them? Are they worth the hype? I know I am behind in the loop but I feel like I need to read them to understand what is going on, GWIM? Any opinions would be great :)
