Dog or no Dog?

My room mate has a beautiful St. Bernard, Ben, who I love very very much. But he isn't mine. I help take care of him when she is out of town, but he is her dog and they have that connection.

I have been presented with an opportunity for a Fench Bul*ldog. I thought I posted the link for the puppy, but it isn't showing up. Hmmmm. I will fix that when I get to my computer, I am in the lab now watching students take Comps. Anyways....

The pup is NOT the price shown, he has been reduced a lot. OVER 50%!!! He is 12 weeks, all shots and really, really, REALLY stinkin cute!

Now the down side. I have been working out after work (time to get in pre-college weight) and am gone 12 hours. Now I could go in the morning and be home earlier in evening, around 5:30. So not that bad. But is it fair to a dog to be in the house for that amount of time. Now my room mate is home and she could let him out every now and then. But still. I know lots of people who work full time have dogs....any advice?

I am going to go see him again tonight, and hopefully, the answer will be clear... I think it is but I have puppy love. I don't need a dog. I want one though. But I don't think I have the time to devote to one, do I????
