My roommate has a cat, Lyric. She has became like my cat. (I do have a cat, but she thinks she is a dog - different post, different day). She sleeps with me, loves me and is such a good cat. EXCEPT she is using the bathroom all over the house. I mean everywhere. I've had her medically checked, nothing there. She is mad at us (so I believe) because we are no longer home 12 hours a day. I don't nap with her or play with her (she was very, very lovey) as much as I used to. (Lack of TIME) So I put an ad on Crai-gs List. I had the perfect person contact me. She will give Lyric a better home, she will love her and she wants her so badly. I know in my heart this is right. I mean, I am the one who hates cats but for some reason I love her. But when I get home tonight, her new "mom" will come get her. And for some reason it is tearing me up. Geesh. Maybe because this is the first animal I've ever had a "connection" to. I know it is right, I know it is. But it hurts....all over a silly cat, Crazy huh?

Here is her first bath pic....

She has such pretty blue eyes, but the flash makes them red

I hope Lyric is very, very happy in her new home.....
Crying tears for you - it's not silly at all. Pets are more than just animals who live beside us, they become part of our families and live IN our hearts.
ReplyDeleteLyric is lucky to have you who cares so much for her to do what is best for her. And you are probably right, the peeing all over is because of the change in schedule - but one thing I have learned for sure is that it's not because she's mad at you - it's stress.
She loves you and that's the only emotion animals feel toward those who care for them (no matter how many cat jokes you read to the contrary). Because they don't speak our language, a change in schedule doesn't make sense to them and it causes stress (our cat pees on things at the tiniest change - we have learned to become very conscientious about change).
Hang in there!
